Adding House Hunter Listings

To add House Hunter listings, enter your site password into the admin.html form and select the "add listing" option. Enter the following information:

  • Type - Select the type of property from the drop down menu.

  • Address - Enter the street address.

  • Zip Code - Enter the zip code. This is used by the yahoo mapping feature.

  • Price - Enter the number without formatting. House Hunter will format numbers automatically.

  • Photo File - Specify the name of the desired photo located in the photos directory. If no photo is available, leave this cell empty.

  • Description - Enter the description as a single paragraph. Hard returns will be eliminated. If desired, used HTML code for special formatting.

  • Realtor - Enter the name of the realtor who is listing the property.

  • Realtor Link - Enter a web link to the realtor's home page(http://), or a link to the realtor's e-mail address (mailto:).

  • Realtor's Phone - Enter the phone number where the realtor can be reached. Format the phone number as you want it to be displayed.

  • Beds - If applicable, enter the number of bedrooms. Use decimals to indicate a partial bed. For example, 2.5.

  • Baths - If applicable, enter the number of baths. Use decimals to indicate a partial bath. For example 2.5

Modifying House Hunter Listings

To Modify House Hunter listings, enter your site password into the admin.html form and select the "Modify listing" option. Then, select the listing to Modify from the list. After you modify an entry, click the "modify" button at the bottom of the form.

Deleting House Hunter Listings

To Delete House Hunter listings, enter your site password into the admin.html form and select the "Delete listing" option. Then, select the listing to Delete from the list. When the listing is displayed, click the "Delete" button at the bottom of the form.

Customizing your listings

To change the way a listing looks, modify the HTML template called "listing.template". Use the following tags, which will be replaced with the appropriate data:


  • !ADDRESS! - The address of the property

  • !CITY! - The city the property is located in.

  • !PRICE! - The formatted price of the property without a dollar sign ($).
  • !DESCRIPTION! - The property description as a paragraph.

  • !BEDS! - The number of bedrooms

  • !BATHS! - The number of bathrooms

  • !REALTOR! - The realtor's name

  • !REALTOR_LINK! - The realtor hyperlink.

  • !REALTOR_PHONE! - The realtor's phone number.

  • !COMPANY! - The name of your realty company.

  • !PHOTO! - The property photo.
